Myreside Farms Produce is an amazing field to fork business based on a beachside farm at stunning Lunan Bay in Angus. Founded by farmer Neil McEwan, they produce grass-fed, free range Scottish goat meat and hand-cut asparagus. Farming has been in Neil’s family for five generations and in 2016, he diversified into rearing South African Boer Goats and Scottish Cashmere Goats with his wife Jillian, because they fell in love with these unique breeds of goat and also wanted to adopt a more sustainable, mixed approach to farming. Neil and Jillian’s goats enjoy undulating, coastal paddocks, clean Scottish air, custom built shelters, alone with sustainable activities sites where the goats can play. Jillian even supplies bespoke, hand knitted coats to keep the newborn kids cosy. Myreside’s high welfare goats graze naturally on grass, forage, hay and Lucerne, which Neil grows on the farm too.
"We started with a fresh grilled langoustine served with the most delicious mushrooms ever tasted foraged locally. We then shared the guacamole and refried beans which are amazing. I had the speciality tacos of sardine, squid, king prawn and one of cactus. Wow. Make sure you're hungry when you go. This is proper home made mexican food using local produce and needs to be experienced. Service is welcoming and friendly. Just go".
