Sad news! I visited my farming friend Ailsa at Sillyflatt Fare, Flowers and Gatherings in Inverbervie to pick the last of the season’s tomatillos. Ailsa grows these fantastic tomatillos specially for me. I use them to make my tomatillo salsa and green mole. While I was at farm I picked up some free range eggs and some stunning dahlias for the restaurant too. Sad to collect the final tomatillos of the year but Ailsa has more exciting farm produce coming next year….. #chefsdayoff#fromfieldtofork
"We started with a fresh grilled langoustine served with the most delicious mushrooms ever tasted foraged locally. We then shared the guacamole and refried beans which are amazing. I had the speciality tacos of sardine, squid, king prawn and one of cactus. Wow. Make sure you're hungry when you go. This is proper home made mexican food using local produce and needs to be experienced. Service is welcoming and friendly. Just go".
