Mexican Chef Martha Doyle has a lifelong passion for promoting authentic Mexican cuisine. She’s cooked professionally in Singapore, the Mexican Embassy and Scotland. Martha’s aim at her Montrose-based restaurant, El Tajín is to promote Mexican food, whilst utilising the very best of Scottish produce. As a dedicated food educator, Martha provides cooking lessons in local communities, schools and at foodie events. On her few days off, she loves to go foraging, visit her producers on their farms and spend time in her kitchen garden.
Marienne is Chef Martha’s daughter and has worked at El Tajín since its creation in 2017. She runs our cocktail and Agave bars developing our authentic cocktail creations. Originally hailing from Mexico and being bilingual in Spanish and English, Marienne enjoys assisting our diners in the pronunciation of our dishes and the culture behind them. Marienne is studying for a degree in Criminology at Abertay University and hopes to work in the Police Force. She loves photography and art, many of her pieces are displayed at El Tajín.
Alex has been in hospitality for 10 years and has worked across 5 different countries, including her home country of Germany. Speaker of Spanish, German and English, Alex loves to grow her own vegetables and help local farms during their harvests. She has a real passion for food and drink and loves sharing this with our customers at El Tajín. Alex also studies Architecture in Dundee and loves exploring Scotland’s beautiful landscapes.
Local lass, Claire has over 14 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, which includes working on the beautiful Scottish Island of Orkney. Along with working at El Tajín, she works as a tour guide for world renowned Fettercairn Distillery, so feel free to pick her brains about whisky next time you are in. Claire enjoys to meeting new people and loves to chat to our diners.
Jillian comes to El Tajín with a wealth of experience in marketing. She is responsible for telling the story of El Tajín and its team online through our website and social media channels. When Jillian isn’t working on latest marketing campaign, she helps run their goat and asparagus farm, Myreside Farms Produce at Lunan Bay, with her husband Neil. Being a lover of good food, Jillian is always first in line to sample our latest dishes.
